Mental Health First Aider Training
Is accredited by the Royal Society of Public Health and is an internationally recognised training course which teaches people how to spot the signs and symptoms of mental ill health and provide help on a first aid basis. You will not be taught how to be a therapist, but just like in physical first aid you will learn to listen, reassure and respond in the event of a crisis.

Evidence based training to increase mental health skills and awareness. Mental health education empowers people to care for themselves and others by reducing stigma through understanding. In general, mental health includes emotional, psychological and social wellbeing. It affects how we think, feel and act. It also helps to determine how we handle stress relate to others and make choices. Your mood, thinking and behavior could be affected, if you experience mental health problems. There are many contributing factors including biological, life experiences along with family history. It is important to remember mental health problems are common and people who have them can get better and recover completely. Organisations benefit from MHFA training as the workforce obtains a better understanding of mental wellness amongst the workforce.

Courses: (Adult > 16yrs)
Half day- An introductory awareness, designed to increase mental health awareness and give an understanding how to look after wellbeing and challenge stigma. When you complete this course you will get a certificate of attendance and a manual to keep so you can refer to it when required.
One day - An awareness and skills course which, will teach you to: recognise the main signs and symptoms of common mental health issues, provide initial support, guide a person to professional support and manage your own wellbeing.
Two day- Intense practical skill and awareness course, designed to give you a deeper understanding of mental health and factors that affect peoples wellbeing including your own. Practical skills to spot signs and triggers of mental health issues and confidence to step in a reassure and support the person in distress.
